The short version. Your photos and designs stay on your iPhone. We only get what you choose to send us, and we use it to get you a quote from a local installer. We don’t sell it, and there’s no tracking or advertising in the app or on this site.
In the GlowField app
- Your designs and photos are saved in the app on your iPhone. There’s no account, and nothing is sent to us unless you send a request or sign up as a pro.
- Photos you add are resized and saved again without their original metadata, such as where they were taken.
- The app uses the system photo picker, so it only sees the photo you pick. It asks for the camera only when you take a photo.
- When you measure from your address, the address is looked up with Apple Maps to show your roof on a satellite view.
- The app has no analytics, ads or tracking, and nothing in it reports back to anyone. Design it for me and Surprise me run only on your iPhone, using open-source image models (Google’s DeepLab and Meta’s SAM 2).
- Deleting a design removes its photo from the app. Deleting the app removes everything it saved.
When you send us a request
When you ask for a quote or a pro, or sign up as a pro, in the app or on this site, we receive what you fill in: your name, phone number, email, address or ZIP code, details about your home or business, your notes, and the photo of your design (a request from the app always includes it), or a home photo if you add one on this site.
Requests are saved to a Google Sheet and Google Drive folder that the GlowField team owns, and a copy is emailed to the team. We use them to send you the app, to match you with an installer, and so the installer can quote and schedule your lights. If an installer takes your job, we share your request with them. We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
On this website
- The site uses no cookies, analytics or advertising.
- The “Happening now” board shows recent requests by town and rough time only, like “Spring, 2 hours ago.” It never shows a name, street, ZIP code, photo or note, and leaves out tests and sample designs.
- A photo you add to the quote form is resized in your browser and saved again as a new image before it’s sent, which leaves out location data.
- The site runs on Cloudflare, which processes basic connection details like your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
Your choices
To see, change or delete what you’ve sent us, reply to any message from the GlowField team, or send a request through the quote form and say what you’d like us to do. We’ll take care of it.
GlowField isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
